Liberty managing director Gavin Reddin said his company had been faced with a choice between massive investment in the UK or acquisition.
Datamail, a 1m-turnover operation based in Hovedgaard, was originally a trade supplier to Liberty. It specialises in cross-glued products such as direct mail items and wage slips.
Reddin said the market for specialist mailers had the potential to boost Datamails turnover by 200,000-300,000 over the next two years.
Liberty supplies specialist ticketing, security numbering systems and thermal ticketing. It employs 25 staff and has a turnover of 3m.
