The Austrian manufacturer said that it will increase the price of its range of premium recycled papers by £45 (€50) per tonne from 1 July.
Lenzing cited the same issues as other manufacturers, and stated: “Scarce availability of raw materials, energy, chemistry and transportation have led to unusual sharp rising input costs.”
Marketing and sales director Jos Dijkman said the business preferred to use a per tonne figure, rather than a percentage increase. “We want to be clear in absolute terms. It signals that every customer is treated equally,” he said.
Lenzing makes a range of papers using 100% recycled fibres under the Lenza brand name.
