Lasham was formerly at Wyndeham and Z-Card. He left Z-Card last year to look at acquisition opportunities.
The deal for the fast-growing Halifax banner and Point of Sale (PoS) specialist was sealed on Monday (12 January) and backed by 3i. It has been on the cards since last year (PrintWeek, 6 November 2003).
Lasham takes over as managing director. The plan is to aggressively tackle the sales and marketing side of the business, and to move to a new factory, he said. Multigraphics has three large-format screen presses and Vutek large-format digital kit. It can produce banners up to 3.8mx1.5m in one pass, and counts major retailers among its clients.
The firm was founded 10 years ago by brothers Matthew and Benedict Clark. Matthew has left to pursue other opportunities, but Benedict retains a stake and remains a director. Martin Hargreaves joins as finance director from the telecoms industry.
