Label Store expands site and looks to invest further

Label printer the Label Store has kicked off a major expansion plan by increasing the size of its manufacturing facility in Beverley, West Yorkshire.

Later this year, the 31-year-old company is set to purchase a new press, along with several pieces of auxiliary equipment. But to make room for the new kit, Label Store has taken control of an additional unit at its site.

It has also taken on several new management staff, including technical expert Steve Parsons and business development manager Trevor Christie.

According to Andrew Mansfield, the sales and marketing director whose arrival at the company in April has sparked the new investment, Label Store now has 1,417 square metres of manufacturing space at its site.

He added: "We are now looking at getting a new press in some time around September or October. The only problem is, we haven’t selected the one we want just yet."

Mansfield explained that the company had a meeting planned for later this month, at which several big decisions would be made.

Label Store’s expanded site will also now have additional conference facilities and a customer focus centre.

The company’s expansion comes a month after John Wade was announced as business manager at Mediamec, Label Store’s London sister company.

Robin Stammers, director of Label Store and Mediamec, said: "Both the label store and Mediamec are currently experiencing a healthy growth period with significant expansion."

The Label Store currently employs 30 staff and has a turnover of £3.5m. The two companies have a combined turnover of £5m.
