Sales director Sutton joined the firm in 1996 and will take up the new role on 1 April, just before Ipex.
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to head up Komori in the UK," he said. "It's one of the major players in the world market and it's an honour to have the opportunity to build on that success."
Martin Rickards, who has been managing director of Komori UK for the past 15 years, will leave his position to concentrate on developing the company's operations in mainland Europe.
"Komori's market in Northern and Eastern Europe has grown considerably over the past few years and I need to commit all of my time to managing the distribution network in the region," said Rickards.
Brian Sims has been promoted to technical and service director after four years successfully managing the department.
Komori is due to launch its new B2 Lithrone 29 at this year's Ipex. "I'm feeling optimistic about how it will be received," said Sutton. "It is generating considerable interest and will have a major impact on the future of our business."
