Sales director Sutton (pictured) joined the firm in 1996.
"I am delighted to have the opportunity to head up Komori in the UK and to continue Martin's good work," he said.
Martin Rickards, who has been managing director of Komori UK for the last 15 years, will leave his position to concentrate on developing the company's operations in mainland Europe.
"Komori's market in Northern and Eastern Europe has grown considerably over the past few years and I need to commit all of my time to manage the distribution network in the region," said Rickards.
Brian Sims has also been promoted to technical and service director after four years successfully managing the department.
The appointments will become effective at the end of March.
