The Totnes, Devon-based litho printer has experienced a near 200% jump in turnover to £2.75m over the past five years since it invested in its last stitcher, a Muller Martini Presto.
Kingfisher managing director Ross Bellotti told printweek.com that the Stitchmaster ST350 saddlestitcher had arrived at a time when "we needed to increase throughput and efficiency".
He added that the 35-staff firm had struggled to fill a skills gap in its bindery and that the Stitchmaster, which requires only a single tool for most adjustments, "had gone some way to improving the situation".
The 26-year-old firm has also invested in a Ti 52 buckle model Stahlfolder, which it will use to finish brochure work for an organic food company, "which has grown massively".

Kingfisher Print has claimed its growing client base has led to a 20% increase in turnover over the last 12 months, driving it to invest in a Heidelberg Stitchmaster and Stahlfolder.
