The contract, spanning summer 2024 to 2027, will see the firm print internal and external graphics with large and small-format digital, large-format litho, and manage the company’s brand assets, collation, pick, pack and distribution to more than 1,300 betting shops around the UK.
Mark Plowman, CEO at KEP Print Group, told Printweek: “I’m ecstatic for the whole team at KEP who have worked hard to make this happen - from our account management team to our printers to our collation team.
“It’s a huge compliment when a company chooses to extend a contract, because it shows they’re thrilled with the work we’ve done.
“KEP is proud to offer Betfred the whole of our services to produce their campaigns, not just our large-format presses, but also BrandIQ and our fulfilment services. KEP is continuing to go from strength to strength.”
The contract, which renews the relationship held between the two firms since 2021, will see KEP make extensive use of its brand management software Brand IQ, as well as its stable of printers, including a Roland 900 XXL sheetfed offset press, and HP Indigo 12000 and HP Scitex 11000 digital presses.
KEP was one of three companies shortlisted by Betfred after the firm approached a number of industry firms for quotes.
After a final tender, each of the three firms hosted a site visit and held a number of meetings with the Betfred team.
Clare Smith, head of retail marketing at Betfred Group, said: “We have been impressed by the KEP team over the last few years. The team and structure KEP have demonstrated has made the difference throughout the tender process.
“We decided to move forward with KEP not only due to their ethos aligning perfectly with Betfred’s future direction, but it was the passion of the people at each meeting, and campaign over a period of years that was the decisive factor.
“The team at Betfred are looking forward to continuing to work closely with the KEP team, toward the goal of building a true long-term partnership whereby we become one team working towards a common goal.”
KEP turns over around £15m with 100 employees.
