The Corrugraph is a completely new design of press that features an inline rotary die-cutter for one-pass production.
It can handle sheet sizes up to 3x2m and corrugated substrates up to 10mm thick at speeds of up to 10,000 sheets per hour.
KBAs North American factory, which makes its newspaper and web presses, is manufacturing the new press.
The first customer, Central Graphics & Container Group in Canada, is installing a six-colour 3x1.7m version of the Corrugraph this autumn.
Its chief executive, Rich Eastwood, claimed the press would improve quality by 20% and double efficiency.
[o] KPG is increasing its focus on the packaging market with the launch of its first flexo plate. More details will be available next week.
