The company launched the Poole-based sales and distribution arm Kasper Consumables UK in August in a bid to boost its presence on this side of the channel.

According to UK sales and marketing manager Angela Davies, Kasper opted for direct sales after deciding not to extend its existing UK sales agreement with Baldwin.

The UK subsidiary is geared up to supply the Dupont Sontara Printmaster washcloth, which is used with litho presses equipped with automatic blanket cleaning systems, to both the UK and continental European markets.

The material, which comes in 500m rolls and pre-wound spindles, is run through the press during the blanket washing cycle, in order to remove ink and solvents from the printing blankets.

Davies added that the UK sales arm was also looking at export sales and had already received orders from overseas customers since its launch at the end of the summer.

Davies said that pricing for the Sontara Printmaster varied depending on order volume, but that Kasper Consumables UK would run a sales promotion until the end of January 2012 to welcome new customers.
