Kama die-cutter gets HP support

Finishing equipment manufacturer Kama has been awarded 'Graphic Solutions Partner' status by digital press manufacturer HP.

Through the award, HP will recommend the use of Kama machines alongside its kit, starting with the ProCut 53 die-cutter which it launched at Drupa 2008.

The machine will feature on HP’s stand at next month’s Graph Expo in the US, where it will make its US debut.

It applies hot-foil effects, before cutting and creasing in a second pass. Kama chief executive Marcus Tralau said that an advantage of the ProCut was the change-over from hot-foil stamping to die-cutting in five to 10 minutes.

He said: "The ProCut 53 off-line solution opens up new horizons for digital printers, book binders and digital packaging printers."
