Former Silicon Imaging owner Jo Simons has taken over the helm at MCSi following the retirement of UK managing director Keven Cooke.
Simons became MCSi sales and marketing director after Mitsubishi bought Silicon Imaging at the end of October last year (PrintWeek, 3 November).
Simons said that the move had been planned since last year and that he now planned to focus on strengthening MCSis position in the market-place.
Ive said before that Mitsubishi is a sleeping giant, but we plan to dominate. We want to give customers another choice other than Agfa, Kodak Polychrome Graphics and Fuji.
Were going to be extremely proactive and provide all the elements of the jigsaw puzzle, from consumables to hardware, said Simons.
He started his career as something of a computer pioneer before joining the graphic arts sector eight years ago.
He added: I really want to see Mitsubishi on the map. Branding is very important to us we want our customers to know that the three diamonds represent the entire solution.
MCSi is currently looking for three salespeople to operate from its Leeds offices.
