Jarrolds fresh focus on the magazine market has paid off with its first major contract win.
The Norwich firm has the contract for Sainsburys Magazine, published monthly and with a circulation of more than 364,000. The title, published for the supermarket by New Crane Publishing, was formerly printed at Polestar Watmoughs.
New Crane production manager John Burfitt said: Watmoughs have done it for the past eight years, but every two to three years we carry out a tendering process.
Overall Jarrolds came in with the most competitive offer.
Jarrolds sales and marketing director James Povey said: Jarrolds enjoys printing products with high-quality values and Sainsburys Magazine is certainly one. We are delighted that New Crane has chosen us.
London-based Argent Colour retains the repro contract for the title. Jarrolds takes over the job from the May issue.
Polestar Watmoughs will retain the web print work for New Cranes Communications division, which produces food-related publicity material for Sainsburys, including recipe cards and leaflets.
