Digital print and repro firm GDI will continue to use Ivor Solution's Card Corporation and Printpotential online ordering and auto-file to print systems.
But according to Ivor Solution managing director Ivor Jacobs both parties felt it was time to end the exclusive agreement that had been established six years ago.
"The products have grown so much that GDI and ourselves decided that it would not be doing anyone a favour to leave the software unexploited in wider markets," he said.
To tie in with the move, Ivor Solution will launch an Application Service Provision (API) model at the end of June and will market under a new brand name. API incorporates a central server that holds data for any user via the web and does not require the purchase of software.
GDI bought the exclusive rights to Card Corporation in 1998 and followed up with the launch of Printpotential in 2001, which offers services ranging from a basic online print ordering system to an interactive design service with online templates (PrintWeek, 23 November).
