IoP revamps Diploma

The Institute of Packaging (IoP) has revamped its Diploma in Packaging Technology to offer flexible study and more hours.

It hopes the new structure will mean that the Diploma receives recognition from the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), which would give students access to government funding. The course has been lengthened from 84 hours to 120 at no extra cost.

The IoPs head of education, training and development Gordon Stewart, said the course could now go into greater depth, meaning students would have a better grasp of the concepts.

It has also been re-organised so people can do just one of the five units to receive a certificate of achievement. This can then be upgraded at a later date.

An online version will also be launched in October and a paper-based study option is available. Contact: 01664 502151.
