Theresa Lang, managing director of the UK, Nordics and South Africa admitted that while the latest VP would have an initial US focus, she said the addition would should see increased demand as higher levels of consolidation take place in the UK.
George Promis, vice president of inkjet production printing and technology alliances at InfoPrint Solutions, said the modular nature of the latest 5000 models increase the number of applications customers can produce.
"InfoPrint has plans in place to continue building on these flagship platforms to provide a broader range of media support, speed and resolution options," he said.
InfoPrint's 5000VP complements the manufacturer's existing 5000GP platform as well as the 5000MP edition launched at Ipex earlier this year.
The latter is a smaller footprint multipurpose member of the 5000 family. The mono engine can run MICR inks and is available in a number of configurations including a twin-engine or monochrome duplex. It is also compatible with the existing full-colour models of the InfoPrint 5000.
The company has also revealed a new business continuity service, which extends its automated document factory (ADF) workflow. Its offering focuses on three areas, which are onsite server continuity, off-site server continuity and external site continuity.
