The £2m-turnover Crawley firm, which is behind the Catfish and MegaEdit web-to-print platforms, announced the acquisition this week as Netkandi, also based in Crawley, moved its team of 11 staff into Infigo’s premises.
“This will help us not only make beautiful sites and technically proficient products but also help our customers sell them,” said Infigo managing director Douglas Gibson.
“We were finding that we were building great B2B and B2C sites with fantastic functionality and in certain situations customers just didn’t have a plan or the resources to take that to the next level, so we found we were partnering with people to help drive marketing needs.”
Gibson, who founded Infigo in 2010, said that he had started looking to buy a business, a digital marketing firm rather than a design agency, that was not too well established and had quite a young team.
“I went after a couple of businesses which didn’t work out and then realised these guys were right on my doorstep and I’d been working with them on various things for over a year,” he explained
“It’s a bold and brave move by us but we see it as an extension of adding value to our customers, which is our number one goal, and they are very excited."
Netkandi’s Christopher Minn said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to offer the Infigo Software client base dedicated and focussed e-commerce and digital marketing strategies while providing our loyal Netkandi clients an even more all-encompassing package with a one-stop digital shop.
"The innovative software development that is undertaken on a daily basis at Infigo will allow us to offer bigger, better and secure web solutions in any market sectors.”
With the addition of the team from Netkandi, which was started three years ago, along with a number of additional appointments Gibson is making to support the acquisition’s operations and e-commerce delivery, total headcount at Infigo has grown to nearly 40 at it’s UK headquarters.
The business has also opened a technical office in Moldova and a sales partnership in the US in response to growing business in the region, where Infigo has signed 15 new clients in the past six months.
Infigo has around 200 clients globally with the UK accounting for around 80% of its revenue.
