Print Run Controller (PRC) is designed to maximise the time spent printing by minimising file location and preparation by the press operator.
"By shortening the turnaround times and reducing the margin for error, PRC is ideal for Inca machines and speed no longer has to be sacrificed when variable images and versioning are incorporated into the print run," said Inca chief executive Linda Bell.
For three-quarter automation machines it allows the operator to focus on loading the correct media and print quality control.
"One of the biggest savings comes post-press," said product manager Roger Walkley. "You can print in store order, and even in aisle order and do it in delivery location order rather than alphabetically."
It uses PPML (personalised print markup language) and can either pre-RIP files or send multi-page PDFs to the printer for output.
Walkley added that PRC enabled users to get the most out of running digital kit.
The software, which starts at £3,500, will be available by the end of the year. A version has been tested by an Onset customer using the Wasatch RIP, and Inca is finalising the integration with its other preferred RIP vendor ColorGate.
