The club commemorated the occasion by sending two of its players to In2Print to see the production team preparing the match day programme for the Sky Bet League 2 game against Hartlepool.
Koby Arthur and Omari Sterling-James were shown around the factory and watched the printing being done before helping to take some of the programmes off the press, ready for assembly in time for match day.
“We’re extremely proud to work with Cheltenham Town FC and it’s great to be renewing our contract. We've managed to retain the contract by building up a wonderful relationship with the club, which we hope will continue for many years to come, and sponsoring it in a number of ways,” said In2Print client manager Ade Prewer.
The contract sees the firm produce 23 72-page A5 league game publications plus three more for pre-season friendlies and additional programmes for any FA Cup matches that Cheltenham Town play.
The programmes, which have varying run lengths between 750 and 1,000 copies per issue depending on the category of the game, are printed on a five-colour B2 Heidelberg Speedmaster 74 and finished on a Horizon StitchLiner.
“We are sent the PDF proofed artwork from the club on Thursday at midday and the job, which involves the pre-press manager, a printer, two finishers and a dispatch person, takes five hours from start to finish from platemaking to dispatch,” said Prewer.
Alongside its print work, the firm has sponsored Cheltenham Town FC over the course of the partnership by putting its name on the match ball, the players' kit, teamsheets and fixture cards as well as on a display board behind the goalpost.
Cheltenham Town FC media and communications officer James Brown said: “We like to stick with In2Print because it’s a local company and we think it’s important to support local business wherever possible.
“It’s not just a business that we use but it's also a real partner of ours with the sponsorship that it’s had here. The price is always good, deadlines are never missed and it's always been a really good company to work with.”
In2Print provides commercial design and print services to clients including Superdry, Gloucester Rugby Club, Hull City AFC, G4S and Spirax Sarco. The firm became part of Commercial Group after it sold a majority stake in its business to the IT and print management specialist earlier this year.
