The Perivale-based printer needed to replace an existing guillotine and selected the new Perfecta model after seeing it in action at a recent GAE open day.
Hurricane Press managing director Eddie Roberts said on the open day "I popped in and ran a job. It was exactly what we were looking for".
He told printweek.com: "Our previous guillotine had broken down so it was finally time to replace it. Everything has been going very well".
Roberts added that the Perfecta has improved quality in the three-staff firm's finishing work "and it runs a lot quicker meaning we can complete more jobs when we are busy".
The Perfecta 76UC is a computer-controlled high-speed guillotine, which can store up to 6,000 cut positions, and features a touchscreen operation.
Hurricane Press was established in 1989 and produces "virtually everything" according to Roberts.
He said: "It was easy to use with the touchscreen and we got to grips with it very quickly. We didn’t have the touchscreen on the previous machine and it is very simple to use. I can even run it if I have to."
