The company claims to be the UK’s only independent supplier of humidity-related innovation to a number of industries, including the print sector.
Setting up the Leatherhead-based firm in the wake of the 2008 financial crash, founders John Barker and Lindsey Henderson both come from backgrounds in engineering and humidity control where they worked for larger manufacturers.
In collaboration with a hand-picked line-up of suppliers from around the world, Humidity Solutions has served its clients autonomously for the past decade, enabling it to provide tailored solutions in a number of fields, such as pharmaceuticals, leisure and manufacturing.
Barker, who also serves as sales director, said: “From our work in the print sector, among many others, you can see how many different people require services like ours. With a diverse range of industries to cater to, we show how humidity control can be approached in many different ways.
“From glue cooling to simply keeping employees comfortable, Humidity Solutions lights the way in humidity control. As we are not owned by a manufacturer, we can offer customers the best products from around the world – with partners in France, Denmark, Canada and more.”
Humidity Solutions provides bespoke set-ups for its customers, tailored using its worldwide network of manufacturers. Several of its partners attended a 10th anniversary celebration in London last Thursday (27 September).
Representatives came from Lithuanian DT Group, Italian HiDros, Canadian Neptronic, French Devatec and Danish Airtec.
While reflecting on the past decade, Humidity Solutions also looked forward to the next 10 years and the technological potential that lies ahead. Co-founder Henderson specifically referred to advances in dehumidification and remote monitoring and service.
She said: “We are truly independent, which means we don’t have a lot of big wheels to turn like the main manufacturers and get to choose from the best tech.
“We have grown year on year and there are now some exciting avenues we can follow to develop further – the industry has changed so much even in the time since we started in 2008. I worked on a number of buildings before we started the company that we can return to now because their systems are entirely out of date and need an upgrade.
“The biggest jump forward has been the remote connectivity that has emerged in so many industries – everything can be done by a click of a button, dialling into a system to solve a problem in ways that do not interfere with production. You no longer necessarily need to send a man in a van down to do anything and things can be fixed without a client even noticing.”
