Hugo Print hands Standing Stone its first Duplo and HP deals

Northumberland-based wide-format reseller Standing Stone signed off its first deals for Duplo and HP at Sign & Digital UK last week with a mammoth order from start-up firm Hugo Print.

Hugo Print, a large-format printer based in Hexham, Northumberland, bought five Duplo DC-615s, which marked Standing Stone’s first official Duplo sale.

The firm also bought five HP Designjet Z5400’s and an HP Designjet Z6200 as well as five Fujipla Al-Meister laminators.

Standing Stone only recently secured agency deals for both Duplo and HP kit and national sales director Simon Buckton said: “Sign & Digital has been really good for us overall and this has been our biggest sale of the show.”

HP Designjet UK & Ireland country manager Phil Oakley presented Hugo Print studio manager Richard Ward with a golden ticket that entitles buyers of the 60in Z6200 with £2,000 cash-back.

Hugo Print, which launched six months ago and currently employs six people made the investments to support its ambitious expansion plans.

Ward said: “The investment has come from access to some regional development funds for a project planned later in 2014. It will expand our exposure, product range and our accessibility to our clients.”
