The companies have not yet revealed details on the project or a launch date for any new kit, but it will be aimed at both commercial and in-house print shops.
Robert Willett, coding and marking president at Illinois-based Videojet, claimed that the link-up would "provide the broadest range of variable printing equipment and be able to meet customer needs, no matter who they are or what they want to print."
Jim Stewart, HP vice president of speciality printing systems, said that the project would respond to demand "for increased print performance at affordable price levels."
Videojet, which has UK offices in Hatfield, is owned by Danaher, the US graphic arts giant which is currently bidding to buy Cambridgshire-based Linx Printing Technologies.
