Videojet and HP in joint project

Label and overprinting specialist Videojet has linked up with Hewlett Packard to produce a variable printer using thermal inks.

The companies have not yet revealed details on the project or a launch date for any new kit, but it will be aimed at both commercial and in-house print shops.

Robert Willett, coding and marking president at Illinois-based Videojet, claimed that the link-up would "provide the broadest range of variable printing equipment and be able to meet customer needs, no matter who they are or what they want to print."

Videojet, which has UK offices in Hatfield, is owned by Danaher, the US graphic arts giant currently bidding to buy Cambridgeshire firm Linx Printing Technologies.
