Hillprint signed for a 50,000 Optimus 2020 MIS system at Northprint.
The investment includes the B2B module for Optimus 2020, which allows printers to use the internet to optimise production and improve customer service. It will be installed at Hillprints County Durham factory in a few weeks.
Managing director Richard Mortimer said that the system was purchased to take us forward into the marketplace.
Optimus 2020 boasts fully customisable estimating, order entry tracking, production scheduling and remote data collection.
Hillprint opted for the system to give it more added value and benefit for its customers. Mortimer added: "We talk in realtime it isnt back of the cigarette packet stuff - and the 2020 enables us to supply a higher level of service."
