"The new whiter board minimises the need for white ink laydown and in some cases, may even eliminate it," said Hexacomb Europe sales and marketing manager Antoinette Woldring.
The new board has a CIE whiteness rating of 110 and a brightness of 83% (in accordance with ISO 2470), which the firm claims provides better colour contrast.
Falconboard Print is available in three standard thicknesses 6, 10 and 18mm and in 1,200x2,440mm, 1,220x2,440mm and 1,400x3,050mm sizes as standard with custom sizes to order.
The material is a paper-based board with a honeycomb structured centre and flat printable facings. It is produced from a minimum of 20% recycled fibre using water-based adhesives.
It is claimed to offer superior flatness, strength and longevity compared to corrugated boards.
