Karen Herbert, previously operations director, becomes managing director of Eight Days a Week Print Solutions; while Rob Moules takes on the equivalent role at print management wing Eight Plus, where he was co-founder and director.
Group managing director Lance Hill takes up the new role of CEO at the Nottingham-based group, which recently acquired a majority stake in creative digital marketing agency Marketlayer.
Gabe Cooney continues as managing director of Marketlayer.
Eight Group has also launched two new sub-brands: Eight Create covering creative strategy and artwork overflow; and Eight Digital encompassing all digital channel services including Marketlayer.
The changes are effective as of yesterday (3 June).
Strategic solutions director Tom Oldershaw, who joined in March with a remit to look at how the business could expand its proposition, said the revamp was “a natural step” to make the group’s capabilities more obvious to existing and potential clients.
“We have a really powerful group offering and I can’t wait to start talking to potential clients knowing we have the brand and marketing to show what we can do,” he said.
Hill said he had been “spinning a lot of plates” since helming an MBO at the award-winning business in 2021, with a busy period since that has included the formation of Eight Plus, gaining B Corp certification, and the Marketlayer buy.
“Karen and Rob have been pretty much running the respective divisions, so this is giving them formal recognition of that plus ongoing autonomy to do what they do best – make it happen!” Hill said.
“With Tom on board as well we now have the correct infrastructure and senior team to continue with our strategic offering, whilst also retaining our core principles of delivering award winning customer service.”
Eight Days a Week Print Solutions won the Customer Service Team of the Year – Large Enterprise Award at this year’s Printweek Awards, and the business was also highly commended in the Company of the Year and Environment categories.
The Eight Group businesses have a combined turnover of £16m and employ 32 staff.
A team from the business is visiting Drupa this week to scope out the latest developments.
