Hagerstown, MD-based HBP acquired the assets through one of its corporate subsidiaries. President John Snyder told PrintWeek: "The acquisition increases our market share of our existing geographic footprint and is creating the opportunity to offer new services to Whitmore's current customer base."
He added: "Whitmore is a high quality commercial printer and their services include multicolor offset printing, color digital printing, mailing, fulfillment and wide format."
In addition to picking up Whitmore’s Baltimore facility, Snyder said HBP is also adding die-cutting and pocket folder gluing to its services in the acquisition.
Several key Whitmore executives, including George Shenk, Steve Shenk, and Jay Goldscher, will also be joining HBP as part of the deal.
HBP offers both traditional offset, digital and wide-format digital printing and fulfillment and technology and marketing solutions such as mobile and website development, data integration and data capture services, multichannel marketing and customized storefronts.
Even with the current economic climate, Snyder said: "Our plants have been extremely busy this summer. We continue to look for acquisition opportunities within the Washington, DC and Baltimore, Maryland market."
