EPS-Doublet President and chief executive Jon Leasia told PrintWeek that the acquisition will enable the company to get into more traditional commercial print markets.
"It expands the toolkit for our existing customers, the marketing tool kit that we’re provide for them for experiential marketing. We were an early adopter of large format and then grand format and Think Big was an early adopter of web-to-print (W2P) and variable data, so we just see a lot of synergies between the product offerings of the two companies."
As part of the deal Think Big’s employees and equipment will be moved to EPS-Doublet’s 70,000 sq. ft. facilities.
EPS-Doublet currently focuses on large format dye-sublimation and screen printing, event promotion products and custom fabrication production, while Think Big Solutions expertise includes short-run packaging, retail POS signage and brochures.
Leasia suggested one major advantage of the deal was that there was almost no customer overlap.
"We don’t compete," he said. "I would guess 90% of Think Big’s customers are headquartered in the Denver, while 90% of our customers at EPS-Doublet are outside the Denver area."
