Version 2 of the spot metallic colour product is a new gold version which, according to the firm, increases the MetalFX colour space even further.
Heidelberg will use next month's Chicago show to print MetalFX packaging and stickers, world maps and stamps live on a Speedmaster.
"Following recent trials the results look stunning," said Heidelberg USA vice president of product management Bernd Blumberg, who reckoned the system was unbeatable on "choice, price and technical advantages".
Version 2 will begin shipping in the new year.
