The German publisher has made an "ambitious" play in the struggling magazine market by launching the 120,000-run, 84pp monthly, which will hit newsstands on 31 March.
Production director Frank Ryan told PrintWeek that Eat In was its first title to use soft proofing throughout the production cycle.
"It was absolutely fantastic," he said. "Our editorial team did the repro in-house and produced it from a standing start through soft proofing."
He said there were significant environmental and cost savings from the move to Remote Director, which was supplied by Targetcolour.
The installation completed last month. Targetcolour director Niall Coady said: "It's a significant step for soft proofing. We can install a system, but we need client buy-in to take it to the next level."
The 280x210mm magazine is printed at one of H Bauer's in-house German print sites.
Eat In is printed on 48pp Manroland Lithomans on 70gsm UPM lightweight coated with a 170gsm wood-free gloss coated cover.
H Bauer prints a range of titles in the UK, including TV Choice at Polestar Chantry and Total TV Guide at BGP.
Managing director David Goodchild said: "Some may say that launching a new magazine in the current economic climate is an ambitious venture, but we've seen the positive impact on magazine sales as the nation continues to be inspired by top chefs and TV personalities who have helped reignite the nation's love affair with cooking at home."
