The DCP 500 D with eXpert digital front-end is being shipped immediately to the Guernsey-based company providing additional digital capacity to the firm which already has a smaller 32cm wide Xeikon.
"We needed extra capacity to cope with demand, and the extra paper width will give us greater flexibility," said Island Scan managing director Andre Digard.
Digard said the flexibility achieved also allows the company to be more competitive in producing larger-format work.
The new press was supplied by Xeikons UK distributor Openshaw. The companys group director Tony Halker said the DCP 500 D has a more powerful front-end, which will allow Island Scan to increase capacity and give it higher variable data capacity.
Halker said there was a lot of sales interest generated at Ipex and afterwards, which the company is now following up.
