The GPMU has welcomed the Governments 40p increase to the minimum wage, which will set it at 4.10 an hour from October.
GPMU deputy general secretary Tony Burke said: We believe it should be much nearer 5. While the National Agreement rate for non-skilled work-ers is well above the minimum, it does provide an important safety net.
