The Liverpool-based business was previously doing the majority of its finishing by hand. The Zünd machine was installed around three months ago and was bought direct from the manufacturer for £54,000. A new belt was installed onto the machine prior to delivery.
“We had a CNC router for some jobs, but that was mainly for cutting things like Dibond. This is the first full-on cutter that we’ve had,” said director Darryn Kennerley.
“We do a range of small-format digital to flatbed and roll-to-roll printing. Because we offer that many different products, having a machine like this has been a massive help with the turnaround time.”
The business also considered a raft of alternatives including Dyss, Colex and Esko Kongsberg models, but found the Zünd to be the best fit for its requirements.
“Now we’ve reduced finishing times for most items, we're looking at other markets – such as packaging – which we’d previously outsourced,” said Kennerley.
Working out of 370sqm premises within the Cains Brewery Village, on the outskirts of the city centre, Go Cre8 serves walk-in trade from local bars and restaurants based within the same development as well from the adjacent Baltic Market. It also serves hotels and large building developers.
The business also operates a PageWide XL 5000, the first in the UK to be installed in 2016, a Latex 360 and a Designjet L28500, all from HP, and a Canon Océ Arizona 350GT UV flatbed. It sold on its CNC router independently after taking on the Zünd PN L-2500.
Founded in 2003 and employing seven full-time staff and two-part time workers, Go Cre8 turns over around £500,000.
