Installed in May, the guillotine replaced an older model that was brought in during 2015 following a fire that destroyed the specialist paper converter’s factory.
However, the secondhand machine was starting to show its age.
As a result, the family-run Lincolnshire firm searched the market and made a shortlist of three programmable, 1,320mm wide guillotines.
“The build quality of the Baumann made it the clear winner for us,” said GML UK managing director Martin Howitt.
The Perfecta 132 features a touchscreen GUI and offers a mechanical cutting speed of 44 cuts/min and can handle cut widths down to 20mm.
“Our existing guillotine remains a functioning, albeit fallback, machine, but the Baumann is taking the full load of our production,” said Howitt.
“Its ease of use and programmable features have already brought smiles to the operators, and happy operators are good for production, and this is having a tangible impact on our production output.”
