The circa £35,000 Polar, which replaced an older Perfecta 76, was installed last week at the firm’s Scottish site.
According to managing director Jay Todd, the slightly wider format of the new machine, along with its extended air tables and user-friendly GUI, will help improve productivity at the firm.
“It’s only 20mm bigger but that allows us to cut down some of the wide-format work we produce,” said Todd.
“Previously we would have had to cut that down by hand but now we are able to batch cut it in the guillotine.”
Todd added that the Fife-based company was looking to grow sales, and the increased efficiency and faster turnaround times offered by the Polar, which will run with an existing Perfecta 76, would help achieve that.
The 15-staff, family-run business was established in 1972.
