GMG will bundle Barbieri's Spectro LFP RT with the latest version of its colour management and control software ColorServer 4.6.
The Spectro LFP RT is designed to meet the needs of the wide-format sector including a larger than normal measuring aperture of 6mm for textured media and low resolution output, and support for heavy and thick media up to 20mm thick including transmissive materials and substrates such as wood, stone, ceramics and metal. It also includes special optics that are optimised for reading UV-cured inks.
The move will help GMG to expand its market into wide-format printing, where the capabilities of ColorServer should simplify ensuring consistent colour across machines and substrates.
"As expectations on colour accuracy and repeatability are increasing, this partnership is a great opportunity to establish high quality colour management solutions for the large format production market," said GMG chief executive Paul Willems.
Barbieri international sales and marketing manager Wolfgang Passler said: "Within this partnership, the colour management knowledge of GMG and the colour measuring technology of Barbieri are combined to deliver a high level of colour accuracy, while the entire colour management and printing workflow is simplified."
