Global Graphics signs long-term deal with Quark

Global Graphics has signed a multi-year agreement with Quark under which new features in forthcoming Quark products will be based on its eDocument Library.

Quark, which currently uses Jaws PDF Library to provide direct PDF output from QuarkXPress, aims to eventually replace Jaws with Global Graphics' next generation eDocument Library.

Tim Banister, general manager of desktop products for Quark, said: "We chose to partner with Global Graphics on the strength of their eDocument Library.

"By working with Global Graphics, we are able to stay on the cutting-edge of the technology behind emerging file formats, from PDF and beyond."

The engine that powers eDocument Library is capable of providing multiple file format conversions. Page Description Languages (PDLs) including PDF, PostScript, PCL, XPS, PDF/A, PDF/X and proprietary formats can all be added.
