Future Recruitment adds to team

Future Recruitment has expanded its print and packaging team with the appointment of two members of staff.

The agency, which has offices in Manchester and London, has taken on recruiters Yasmine Baythoon and Michael O’Rourke.

Managing director Jane Houghton echoed previous comments and said that demand for sales candidates throughout the print and packaging industry has been high during 2009 – a trend she said will continue.

"Most of our business will come from sales positions this year. It is where the biggest demand is and will continue to be," she said.

"While there has been a rise in the demand for sales candidates, technical positions have seen a drop-off at the business."

According to Houghton, Future has only placed three estimators so far this year, while it would normally have secured around 12 such positions each quarter.

She said: "There is definitely less of a demand. Companies are not advertising for as many technical positions while direct applicants help these companies to draw up their own shortlists."
