Polestar undertakes graduate recruitment drive

Polestar is undertaking a comprehensive graduate recruitment scheme, its first in years, to help the group "grow significantly" while strengthening its customer-facing team.

The group will take on 20 graduate trainees to work in Polestar's sales and customer service teams with a 12-month training and mentoring scheme commencing this Autumn.

Polestar marketing director James Povey said the latest scheme starts at "the right time" for the group with a wealth of qualified, able graduates in the market for a new career.

He said: "The print industry needs new blood to develop and grow further and the best way for us to do this is by training ourselves.

"There are a lot of hungry individuals in the job marketplace at present and they can truly be the future of Polestar."

Povey said that the graduates will be challenged in their customer-facing positions and will be given a "proper job" from the start of their career with the group.

He added: "We are the number one supplier for many of our clients and we are looking for a number of young people with fresh ideas that can help Polestar grow and develop.

"This business will continue to grow but we need new employees to help support that. We're already attracting a strong level of interest and we are confident we can get the people that will add value to our service offering.

"It is the first time we have carried out such a scheme in many years and I am sure it will prove to be a success."

Earlier this month, Polestar Applied Solutions renewed its contract with Monarch Travel Group to provide its entire printing, mailing and fulfilment requirements.

The contract renewal follows the expiry of the companies' three-year print management agreement, which Polestar won in June 2009.

Monarch Travel Group head of media Jill Gambling said she was "delighted" to continue working with Polestar.
