The Ipswich-based company has been concentrating on improving its press department in recent years. However, managing director Neil Stones said: "We were astonished at just how advanced folders had become in the last three or four years.
"With the current schedules we need flexibility and speed in the finishing area as well as the pressroom. One operator said he was going to need roller skates to keep up with the output."
Shortly after installing the machines, a Stahlfolder KH 82 combination machine and TH 56 buckle, Fuller Davies was able to produce a miniature concertina fold in-house.
Stones added that the machines, which replace two older MBO units, will reduce the need for overtime and prevent the company having to add a second shift.
Fuller Davies produces a range of products including stationery, booklets, brochures and magazines.
