The massive 3.2x1.5 flatbed machine arrived from Israel at the company's recently expanded premises early Sunday morning, where it was installed through the factory wall, which had to be temporarily knocked through.
The machines joins an existing FB7500 as well as a TJ8350 and two XL1500 HP devices, along with a Vutek Q-series printer at the 30-staff printer which over the past 12 months has doubled in size both in terms of premises and staff.
Business development director Chris Southall said the expansion investment is in the region of "a couple of million" and is set to build sales. "We're trying to get over £4m this year," he said. "And we've had year-on-year growth for the past four years."
"This is the first stage - the next stage will be in finishing," he added. "Part of our objective is to be able to do everything in-house".
Southall expects the flatbed to be fully operational within six weeks and will add capacity so that the firm can produce 1,700sqm per hour.
As a result he said, the company is dealing with bigger clients. "We've also won a few tenders, and we offer signage services as well for other sign companies; they come to us because can print direct onto substrates."
The company recently won ISO 9001 and 14001 accreditations and produces a range of large-format work such as 48-sheet posters.
