Led by former head of sales Trevor Buck as managing director, the new firm has agreed a deal with liquidator Menzies Corporate Restructuring to buy key items of equipment.

"One of the main factors in setting this up has been the response from customers," said Buck.

Granite has 12 staff, including former L Scott Press sales director Danny Kirk, who will take on the role of head of sales.

The firm has bought all pre-press equipment from liquidator Menzies, including Creo CTP kit.

The new business will  operate from White Production's offices, but it has agreed a deal for a 650m2 factory in West Horndon, Essex, which it will move into in December.

A deal has been agreed for a Mitsubishi B1 eight-colour press, which will be installed at the new base in late December.
