The machine joins its first Roland RE-640 installed last December, and in tandem they replace a Mimaki printer. Both Rolands were supplied by Quality Print Services (QPS) in Lancashire.

Eventureworks director Brian Gibb said the company had considered buying one faster machine, but having two “slightly slower, identical” printers would offer flexibility and enable the firm to transfer jobs from one machine to another in the event of any technical difficulties.

The company has worked since 2002 with QPS, which has also supplied Eventureworks with Nazdar inks and provided technical support.

The VersaArt RE-640 can print up to 64 inches wide with image quality up to 1,440x720dpi. It can also support media rolls up to 40kg in weight, and print a maximum 23.1sqm per hour.
