The accolade signals the second consecutive year that the manufacturer has triumphed in the category.
The Epson Stylus Pro 11880 was launched in September last year and was the first digital printer to use its new UltraChrome K3 inkset with Vivid Magenta and Micro Piezo thin-film printhead.
The press can output up to 30sqm an hour at a maximum resolution of 2,880x1,440dpi.
Head of strategic marketing at Epson Europe, Barbara Kuhr, said: "The award demonstrates that the values placed on innovation and quality at Epson's inception still hold true today."
She added: "Epson is delighted to have received the award and will continue to invest in research and development to maximise product potential for the future."
The EDP Association is made up of the publishers of leading European magazines devoted to digital printing and associated products.
The European Digital Press panel said the press offered "colour stability immediately after printing" and "capability of handling nine separate ink channels and superior connectivity".
