Em. de Jong expands UK team

Group is delivering around 40 trailer loads of web offset print into the UK per month

Netherlands-headquartered print group Em. de Jong has expanded its UK sales team as the business continues to target expansion beyond its continental heartland.

Industry veteran Peter Helfrich is now working in business development for the web offset and sheetfed printer alongside UK sales manager Craig Hall.

Helfrich’s industry career goes back more than three decades, and he has worked for a number of well-known industry names including Westminster Press, BGP, Southernprint, Precision Colour Printing, Garnett Dickinson, and Geoff Neal Group.

Helfrich will support Hall and web offset director Martijn Kammeijer.

Hall said: “Our UK & Irish clients are now a considerable part of the company’s turnover and we are investing in various areas of the business to support this growth.

“We are excited to be working with Peter and continue this growth.”

Hall said the business was delivering around 40 trailer loads of web offset print into the UK per month for retail and mail order clients, and has added nationwide distribution to is offering via a partnership with a specialist business.

The group has recently refreshed its B1 sheetfed litho facilities with three new 18,000sph B1 Heidelberg presses: a Speedmaster XL 106 8P+LX3 installed on a plinth for handling thick substrates; a Speedmaster XL 106-8P, and a five-colour XL 106 with coater.

It has also installed a second Landa B1 Nanographic inkjet press to its machine park with a new 11,200sph S11P model joining the existing S10P.

The firm hosted numerous visits from potential Landa customers during the recent Drupa expo.

Em. de Jong runs 27 web offset presses across multiple locations in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

The group recently added to its coldset newspaper and commercial print offering with the acquisition of Netherlands-based BDU Print.
