EFI in bid to win PPAs approval for RIP proofer

EFI is aiming to gain PPA proof4press certification for its latest proofing RIP, the recently launched Colorproof XF.

"Not only are end-users asking for proof4press accreditation, so are our dealers," said EFI field sales engineer Paul Bunyan. "We have SWOP and ECI, but nothing specific for the UK."

EFI seeks to get the software accredited with printers from three different ink-jet manufacturers: Canon, Epson and HP. "We hope to have the widest accreditation for any software RIP," said Bunyan.

Although it has yet to be finalised EFI is planning to submit the Colorproof XF with a Canon W2200, HP DesignJet 130 and The Epson 4000 or 7600. EFI is waiting for the APPA's final recommendation of printers to submit. Proof4press accreditation requires a proofer to be submitted as a complete system.
