"I think that we have by far the highest installed base of any UV printers worldwide," said EFI president Fred Rosenzweig. He added that it included over 500 of its QS machines and a product range that spanned the market from €53,000 (£47,000) to €450,000. It was also claimed that between them those machines had consumed more than a million litres of ink.
The firm's first new product was the Rastek H650, an entry-level UV flatbed, that it claimed offered higher build quality and functionality than other machines at this price point. The 21.4m2 per hour machine, which uses Toshiba Tec printheads has a vacuum belt drive rather than pinch rollers and includes a white ink option. The 1.65m-wide machine can print at resolutions between 300 and 900x1,200dpi. With the latest launch, Rastek now offers four machines in the €50,000-€100,000 range.
Vutek's new products were a 2m wide version of its latest GS range and an update to the 3.2m wide version of its hybrid machine QS, the QS3220.
The GS2000 produces 93sqm per hour in photo mode and 186sqm per hour in fast five mode, and joins the 3.2m wide hybrid GS3200 and the 5m wide roll-to-roll GS5000r, which were launched earlier this year.
Enhancements to the QS3220 include the company's latest Series 2 inks, and improved materials handling for rigid materials thanks to a new vacuum and new feed and delivery tables.
"The industry's best-selling UV hybrid just got better," said EFI Vutek vice president of marketing Chuck Dourlet.
