Scott Schinlever, vice president and general manager of EFI Rastek and EFI ink business said: "These printers are aimed at production print shop environments for printing on a range of substrates with unique applications."
EFI's Rastek H652 UV hybrid offers twice the speed of EFI H650 of up to 455 sqft per hour in grayscale print quality with resolution up to 1200dpi, handling a wide range of rigid and flexible materials up to 1.8-inches thick and 64-inches wide.
Sambit Misra, country manager, EFI India said: "Given the dispersed and small volumes than the traditional solvent or eco-solvent volumes, the entry level EFI UV will be welcomed by Indian printers.
"Both the machines will cater well to the Indian market that is abound with applications on glass, ceramic tiles, marble printing lenticular lenses. We would be launching these products in India by the beginning of 2011," said Misra.
In India EFI's products are distributed by two dealers: EFI's Vutek range by Proteck Machinery based in Chennai and the Rastek by Mehta Cad Cam Systems based in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
In August at the MediaExpo held in Pragati Maidan in New Delhi, EFI India had launched the Rastek H650 hybrid UV flatbed printer. "At the launch, the first printer was sold and installed at Redfish Designs in New Delhi. The second machine is scheduled to be soon installed at our demo facility in Ahmedabad for customers to see the real product, test their files and develop new applications," said Shailesh Mehta, director at Mehta Cad Cam.
"The entry level UV market in India is growing fast, especially in the retail and in-shop signage and display graphics space. With more than 40 installations in India, UV market is slated to grow at a faster pace than any other product line." said Sambit Misra, country manager, EFI India.
