Edale has developed its next generation FL-3 flexopress with reduced height and integrated ducting as standard as well as optional dual axis servo drives and moveable rail system.
The latest iteration is also available in a 430mm web width as well as the standard 350mm width.
According to the company the optional dual axis servo drives, which can also be retro-fitted to existing machines, give operators the ability to use a greater range of substrates enabling them to offer a broader variety of applications, such as flexible packaging.
Additionally the moveable rail system, which is only available for the new generation FL-3, was added to allow operators the flexibilty of moving modules such as laminating, turnbar, screen and cold foiling. The original FL-3 machines have the same modular options but they are not fitted to a rail.
According to the company a slight height reduction, which has been achieved through the introduction of a dual side plate construction, gives operators easier access to the machine's print stations, while the integration of ducting within the FL-3's footprint gives the machine a total width of 1.4m.
Prices for a six-colour, full UV FL-3 start from £265,000.
The machine is now available to view at Edale's Hampshire showroom and the manufacturer will be running demonstrations and trial jobs on it throughout 2013.
Sales manager Chris Chappel said: "The FL-3 is an extremely versatile and useable flexopress and now that we have a machine based in the showroom, we can carry out trials and press demonstrations quickly and easily.
"The press will be coming out to Label Expo Europe but we have an open door policy at Edale for those who would like to view it sooner."
